Hi All,

So i just opened my first bottle of Chemi-pure elite. Instructions say to rinse "lightly". So i rinsed it and and the water coming through it was still black. In fact, I rinsed/soaked it 3-4 more times in RODI water for maybe 10 more minutes, and its still coming out blackish/grey, but its getting better. Is this normal for Chemi-pure elite? If i put this in the tank, wont it cloud the water? I have a Nuvo 40 with media baskets in the chambers.

Also, how far into the cycle should I put this in? Thanks all !

Yes, that’s normal. It’s just dust. I used this product for the first 2 yrs, but have switched to ROX 8 from BRS and Phosguard

So should I keep rinsing/soaking it in RODI water till clear before putting in my tank?

Anyone else have any insight who uses this product? I've just soaked this in RODI water for 24 hours and its STILL dusty, and giving off brown water.
