Hi all. I’m a newbie and starting to really worry about my chemistry. I’ve got an Evo 13.5 that I started 2 months ago.
I feel like I’m fighting my chemistry every day. I have some hermits, a couple snails, and have recently added two mini clowns and a watchman goby.
I’ll snap a pic of my chemistry readings… just trying to get some advice on what to do. I’ve added chemipure and zeolite to help reduce nitrate but I’m not getting anywhere. Maybe I’m overchecking and worrying about it!

I have the same situation, and learned that Nitrate is working with Phosphate, I tried to eliminate PO4 to 0.0 by PO4 remover but it’s not a correct way, when I stop using PO4 remover, my Nitrate is going down to 13.7 , PO4: 0.03. I check every 3 days. Hope it helps.

Nitrate readings are not accurate whilst nitrite is in the water, it interferes with the test kit.

i doubt your calcium is 300ish, unless your salinity is way low. There's a link to Randy's DIY salinity calibration solution in my sig.

What test kits are you using?

Are doing weekly water changes? Water changes is the easiest and fastest way to reduce nitrates, no need for bottled chemicals. 10% water change will drop nitrate 10%, 30% change will drop it 30%, etc..

3 fish in a 13 gallon is a high bioload, and it will take some effort to keep the nutrients under control, meaning frequent water changes.
