Does anyone know, or suspect what could be in this product which could cause such a precipitous drop in ORP within minutes of addition? I have to believe it's chemical rather than biological for it to occur so rapidly.

There are a number of compounds that could have a sharp orp lowering effect, some preservatives some vitamins, some trace metal mixes, dechlorinators. A number of food mixes drop orp. that doesn't mean those compounds are undesirable. They may serve a perfectly reasonable role in the product.

I wasn't suggesting the product was harmful, only that I was surprised to see it. I've not noticed this with any other "bacterial" product I've used.

My guess is something like vitamin C, but ferrous iron will also do it.
