Hi everyone

I bought this tank on eBay and had it collected. Didn’t notice any issues or cracks. Today when varnishing the cabinet I noticed two chips at the bottom glass of the aquarium. I was shocked. Any ideas how I can get this fixed?

Is it safe to use now? How can I repair this

Thats a huuuggeee bummer my friend. Sorry, but unfortunately that should go to the landfill. Very likely to spread out from there and cause a catastrophic failure. Don’t risk it and end up like this guy.

Yeah. Sorry this happened to you, but it has to go. I bought a 75g years ago and it started leaking on me 6 months later. It was a royal pain to deal with. I vowed NEVER to get a used tank again. It's a drag but great job in noticing the details. You saved yourself a huge headache.

I agree with above comments.

That tank is not worth the risk.

Not an emergency by any stretch of the imagination.

Chips look pretty significant to me. I’d chalk it up as a loss.
Maybe he was foreshadowing :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Sorry, I shouldn’t laugh. Super sorry for the OP. I would give the seller an ear full.

I wonder what’s meant by ‘had it collected’? It looks like the tank was dropped. Those are major points of damage - one even looks like it may have radiating cracks.

What if I buy a new bottom glass and silicone a new one on?
Find a person that does custom tanks and ask them if they could replace the bottom glass. Though that could end up costing more than what you bought the tank for. Open a case with Ebay if it arrived like that you can get your money back.
