A light that will grow whatever coral it is you want to keep, a heater, tank and powerhead is all you need.

I haven't had any real issues with my frag tank (fishless coral/invert QT) except for algae growth. It's a new tank so I'm still working through the uglies with it. But it's not difficult at all to maintain and doesn't require as many water changes since it doesn't have much of a bioload and only a couple corals at a time in it.

Well i stay in mumbai (bombay) india.. its crazy hot and humid here.. so we need a chiller escpcially for sps. Most softies some lps survive at 31c. But sps lps no1 takes the risk with them.. so an extra chiller will be a must for us.. another issue is space and parents yelling... lolz

Not much. You see the one Humble has posted that he uses. It's pretty simple and works well. Mine is a little different but works the same way. This picture is mine when I first set it up.

Yes; LFS I advise has successfully used CP on several different lionfish.

If it were me and I had to do a water change while doing a CP treatment, I would add enough CP to the new water before putting it in the tank, to bring it up to previous levels.

^^This. Add CP to any replacement water (ex. doing a water change); but NOT top off water (ex. evaporation).

CP tablets are cheap, can we dissolve in measure cup, then add to the water, that way also the undissolved part of the tablet won't get into water, and also easier to dose.. would that be fine? Howmuch minimum water wud be needed to dissolve? I tried on 1 tablet, and it dint dissolve completely in a 50ml beaker.

For the 250 mg tablets, right? When you dose, be sure you are dosing according to the usable chloroquine base. A friend of mine who was using the 250 mg tablets cut them into smaller pieces and put that into a high flow area of the QT (like a HOB filter). It took a little while, but the CP did fully dissolve. I don't believe there's any practical way of separating the chloroquine from the inactive ingredients.

Iv seen it leaving some undissolved solids.. so i think it would be better to mix it in a seperate mug or beaker then dose it. Its extremely cheap, so even if i throw away the rest is fine for me. The cost here is 60 tablets for 1$.

That's insane. One gram of pharmaceutical grade CP can cost $5-6 in the US. Hopefully, those tablets you are getting really do contain 155mg of chloroquine. Watered down product would throw the whole dosage off.

Well our labour is cheaper then usa.. infact 1kg of loose cp costs 25$ here.. also all the meds we buy here are approved.. pharmacy is a very strict business here.. govt is very strict here.. infact because its cheap here.. many of my cousins that stay in usa buy loads of medications from here and go or call for it if someones going there.. u guys have cheap housing so can keep fish rooms and awsm qt setups.. housing here in mumbai (bombay) is crazy like 2000 to 3000$ PER SQUARE FOOT.. thats why its difficult for us to keep a seperate qt system... but tis time ill manage some how.. my sister just shifted to S.Carolina 2 years back.. gona come there next year to visit her.. jus got my visas..[emoji12]... plannin to come during MACNA..

@nanomania Sounds like a possible business opportunity for you here. Companies like Fishman Chemical, NFP, Fish Remedies LLC, New Life Spectrum, etc. are sourcing their CP from China, and the end user often has mixed results due to purity. So, if a company in India can do better then maybe they deserve to be the "go-to place" to get CP from - whether they sell direct to the public or act as a wholesaler.

The issue here is purity. In order for CP to be effective against external parasites, it needs to be 99% pure! I cannot stress that enough; 98% pure just ain't gonna cut it. The 1% binder also needs to be food grade, safe for human consumption, and thus safe for aquarium use.

The Co. in India would need to provide a Certificate of Analysis for each & every batch of CP produced. I would also feel better about it if CP for aquarium use was somehow regulated through the FDA. So, they could do random analysis checks on product being imported into the country.
