Here in Sweden we celebrate Christmas at Christmas eve (Julafton) - 24 of december - its 3 hours left and I´m waiting for what´s Christmas for me. In nearly every Swedish home something called Julskinka is one of the dishes on our Christmas smorgasbord (One of the few words from Swedish that you have picked up but in our language its smörgåsbord and the special at Christmas is named Julbord). Its a form of ham done in a special way. By tradition in my home - its done the evening before Christmas eve and when its cooked and breaded - we have to test it. Thick slice on a special bread "Vörtbröd" (bread flavoured with wort). Mustard and -WOW - the best moment the whole year. This breaded ham and special bread should be taken with a soda pop named Julmust. This soda is only in the shops from November to 31 of December. During December 10 million inhabitant’s drinks around 45 million litres of this soft drinks. Some years Coca Cola lose 50 % of its sale during December. The drink has a secret recipe that only 3 swedes know about. Coca Cola has try to buy it – but no. Coca Cola try to make their own Julmust (with license from the owners) and sold it in south of Sweden with a Swedish name. It was not a large success but I think they still sell it and you have to look at the small letters in order to see that its manufactured by Coca Cola

Come on and fill up with how do you celebrate Christmas at your place - what´s the most important?

GOD JUL

Sincerely Lasse

Merry Christmas (Julafton) lasse!:)

God jul från Danmark Lasse :)

I just got home from christmas eves celebration at my sister's. The traditional meal here in Denmark is roasted duck, roast pork, white potatoes and small potatoes glaced in sugar, red cabbage and lots of gravy. Best meal of the year. A good night with the family, enjoying the fine food, singing christmas carols while dancing around the christmas tree and eventually sharing gifts.

Merry christmas to all of you from Denmark

Merry Christmas Lasse:)

Thank you both and God Jul och Gott nytt år

Sincerely Lasse

Thank you for sharing, that looks amazing!

For our family, we normally do a beef rib roast on Christmas. With some family obligations this year we did the rib roast last night and will be having ham this afternoon. I doubt it will be anywhere near as good as what you made!

This is what I had for breakfast. Not normal by the way. Christmas grill out! In the snow.
