Definitely a Favia War coral.

Based from the color of the Favia and cross referencing with the other coral, it really looks like a Hollywood Stunner Chalice.

Are chalices soft and kinda leathery around the outer edge this one I noticed today was

That’s a Stunner alright;)

Hollywood Stunner grow very very very fast for a chalice! Put a good amount of flow on her and she’ll grow stupid fast. The kickback though.... it will grow very thin, like how it looks now. It can break very easy too. Plus side, could be a frag waiting for you.

I would say out of every chalice, that’s probably the thinnest and fastest grower.
I had a stunner years ago get to be about a foot long. Then something happened to it and I couldn’t save it for some random reason.

I would say this is the soft one out of the chalice family. Could be many more but this is the one we all see the most. Frag goes for $20.
I don’t have an answer for the leathery edge. I never noticed or thought of that for this one.

hollywood stunner photo drop,started as 6x6 about 20 years ago yielded prob 1/2 the same in frags sold mother when moved ,still have few chunks,watch the sweepers ,can be longer than coral is wide :)
