My small maxima or crocea got knocked off the clam hammock and ended up attaching to the bottom of the tank in sand bed. It feels very secure.

can I move it or will that still risk injuring the foot?

If attached, do not move them. Both these guys can be sensitive to any movement or breaking of bysal threads. They may move themselves as needed. Just make sure not being bothered or picked on.

I have a problem. My clam is around 6" and is attached to the glass bottom panel. I need to remove him to relocate to a larger tank. How would you go about releasing his grip on the glass. Thanks for your help.

You can take a razor blade and CAREFULLY scrape it on the glass cutting the threads

Sorry, been gone a while. Yes, a razor blade and be careful to move off the glass bottom. Then, you can use a clam tray. I made some with marco product and they work fine.

Leave it. If you tear the foot off it will die over time. You must have a shallow sand bed if he fell and attached before you noticed

Yes I had a shallow sand bed. He didn't fall, I placed him on the sand. Can't leave him there because I have to upgrade to a bigger tank. He came off pretty easy though, in the new tank I will place him on a small rock.
