is there any way to help a clams colors come more distinct.

The color will vary a bit with bulb spectrum and intensity. Its hard to tell how their color will respond to these changes. The Tahiti blue and bright green clams seem to color up best when slowly adjusted to higher light levels. Some clams under very bright light can become more bland.
