Looked great yesterday now it looks like it’s gonna die. Fresh water dip? No changes made made to tank in the last couple weeks. Had the clam for a month and a half. And always looked good.

Well since no one replied I will post what I found. The clam was loaded with pyramid snails I counted at least 25! My bad I got that clam from PEA last month and never really checked for PS I just assumed they where clean coming from PEA. I pulled what I could and I hope it makes it but I think its too far gone. I need to find better ways to waste 150.00!! Very disappointed in the vendor since this was my first order from them, I did not expect such an infestation but at the end of the day its my bad for not inspecting better...bummer

Dang that’s no good. I have a derasa and hippopus from LA ORA and they are clean and healthy. I’m sure pests can come from any vendor but that sounds pretty bad. Sorry

Wow that's horrible. Guess it's too late to reach out to them. Sorry for your loss. Have you checked the other clams to make sure they havent got them now as well?

Did the clam die? They can recover pretty quick if you brush off the snails and clams using a toothbrush. I usually gently rinse and brush a clam holding it upside down under gently water from my faucet. Always quarantine clams for at least 2 weeks. I would check all your clams each week for at least a couple weeks.

It’s a goner the hermits are circling the carcass. Never had to worry about pyramids before so it was a harsh lesson learned I guess.

Sorry to hear that it died. Keep an eye on the other clams. Once clams are established they are usually pretty hardy and beautiful.

Sorry to hear this. Do you have any other clam in your tank?
PMD normally does not kill quickly.

Sorry for your loss! If you do have other clams, be sure to check them very well. Pyramids can reproduce quite rapidly. If you see something that looks like a small ball of clear snot - sorry, that so sounds so gross but that is a pyramid egg sac. Get it off the clam immediately! Usually you will find that goo on the bottom of the clam by the bysal opening. You might need to use a magnifying glass to check and make sure none are under the mantle or in the chutes
