One of my clams looks a bit sick. I'm not sure what this is, but it seem like my clam's having gaping. Water parameters are great, the other clam seem too be doing great also. He are some pictures. Please if anyone knows about clams help me help him before it's too late.

Dose it close up when touched ?
Not completely, I had to close it up myself. I read that I had to tie him up which I did.hopefully that works.

Unfortunately that clam is a goner. Its severely gaping. A few things can be at play but I see no new shell growth so the clam has likely been slowly declining. I don't know where you read to tie up a clam but I sincerely suggest you don't take any advice from there again. Any clam questions I'd be happy to help. Tridacna really need good/stable water quality/chemistry and good lighting. Not sure if you were still using tap water or not.

Yeah don’t tie your clams up and he’s not going to make it. As said above he’s been slowly passing away for a bit now.

Thank you so much for the clarity. Is there anything I can do to save it?

I want to try everything possible to save him

The clam died...I feel so bad, I think I got it sick from the lfs...wish I could have saved it. Makes me wonder, is there any way to save a dying clam?

Sorry for your loss... unfortunately once a clam shows symptoms such as yours there is very little you can do to save it.
