He also has a bright blue rim to the mantle. And this specific one is about 4.5-5"

Can you post a side view shot of the shell and also one of the byssal opening? The shell has scutes and that screams Maxima but I think it is a Crocea. Most Crocea's don't have scutes, they break off easily. But to me that mantle coloration is screaming Crocea, and I too have a Crocea with scutes.

Well I appreciate the ideas but you got me as to scutes and byssal. I was told by a lfs owner it was a max. But I figured I would ask. The shell has small ledges coming out in layers.

Scutes are those "ledges" shooting off the sides, the byssal opening is where the foot comes through the bottom of the shell.

*That being said I'm nowhere near a pro so Skinz could be right.
