Ok guys and gals. Put a new clam in last night, today it decided to spew like crazy! Any suggestions?? I have done a 20% water change, I am running a 180 and the clam is 15".

Define spewing. Hahaha! Like spawning, or just opening and closing causing jets of water?

If it was a spawning event, just run some carbon and do a couple water changes to be sure it doesn't foul your water. A 15 inch clam can make a heck of a mess.

How's the clam doing now? Sorry I missed this one but it sounds like you have it on the right track with water changes and carbon.

All of yesterday the clam was gaping and not extanding it's mantle very far. To this point , I have changed 44% of the water. I am running active carbon and was also running a poly filter to help with the removal of bad stuff in that water. I am hoping for the best!!!! Any other suggestions? PS. My other two clams are doing fine.

That's a big clam! Clams will spawn when they are not doing well. Did you do a good job of acclimating it? I think that water changes and carbon are all you can do at this point, besides making sure that it is properly placed in the tank.
