Clams & water changes

If clams are supposed to be high up for more light, how do you do water changes without exposing the clam to air?

Increase lighting intensity and lower the clam in the tank, or do smaller more frequent water changes.

Have you measured PAR in your tank?

they are fine to be exposed to air. My clams were exposed weekly for about 20-30 minutes at a time, they are fine.

Clams are exposed to air on the reef during low tide (and it rains on them too) all the time without issue. Don't overthink this, just do a water change and they'll be fine. No need to move them and stress them out. Just do a search in YT for clams, low tide.

If still desiring to keep things under water, you could set up a continuous water change peri pump.
