Clarification: Dosing hydrogen peroxide safe?

Hello. I just wanted clarification if dosing hydrogen peroxide into a mixed reef with sps, lps, shrooms, acantho, etc. was safe as algae control. My understanding of it is that it is but I want to be 100% sure. Can someone please clarify for me? All help is appreciated. Thank you

I, too, am interested in the latest developments on this front. I have recently had some cyanobacteria crop up (most likely due to carbon dosing), and I'm interested in what the proper regimen is for this treatment.

I've added it to my tank every day for the past year. It's got a short half life and is out of the water in 24 hrs. I have bta some sps and LPS even my yuma isn't phased by it. When used correctly it's a powerful tool

I've used H2O2 for a couple bacterial infections (coral and fish) and i've used it for a wide variety of algae using different methods (dip, target, broadcast). Now I dose daily with awesome results. Very excited to read the write up from [HASHTAG]#twilliard[/HASHTAG]

Safe is a function of dose, just any most chemicals. :)

Peroxide is safe, it's naturally occurring in the environment and in many organisms. The brown bottle stuff from Walmart should not be used though because of stabilizers which are toxic iirc. So you should get food grade peroxide and dilute it.

I'm not exactly sure that is correct. The peroxide in not stable when exposed to direct sunlight, which is why it's sold in a brown bottle. As far as I know, there are no stabilizers in the standard 3% pharmaceutical peroxide.
