Hello,
So i have a strange question regarding your classic lid for a 40b.
I have a particularly hard headed cat that likes to jump on to my current tank. I use egg-crate as a lid currently. I would like to switch to something different but feel a screen lid would eventually fail with a 7 pound cat jumping onto it. Would you feel comfortable your lid would survive this type of treatment?

I would wonder if the cat’s claws could get caught in the mesh and it would lift the screen when it tried to jump off

He hasnt been on top of the 40g yet, right now just have some spare egg crate laying across. I wonder if the height of the aquarium compared to the 20g was enough to stop the jumping on to it?
He doesn’t go on my planted 55g that is lidless. Maybe i can wait and see a bit longer :). But would be reassuring if knew the lid could at least stand up to the momentary force from landing.

Still cant believe i had to start a thread on a cat [emoji23]

it would be a matter of the screen spline being able to hold the screen in the crease with 7 pounds of weight, I don't think the frame would break from the pressure.
