Cleaning above water line

What do you guys use to clean the layer of salt creep and algae right at the water line? Scraping it and using vinegar on a brush/towel hasn’t worked for me.

Another reason I prefer tanks with frames. :D

But I am curious to know how this is maintained for rimless, too.

I use this on my 3 rimless systems. Go slow and it's no problem.

Anyone know of any special sponges? Like magic erasers but reef safe?

On an active tank, razor blade and vinegar would be my go to. I'd avoid any abrasive pads or brushed for fear of scratching the glass.

For an inactive tank, you may be able to clean more aggressively with murianic acid or something.

I've seen many posts here on R2R about people using magic erasers for cleaning inside active tanks.
Never used one myself so not sure if there are certain types that are safer or what chemicals to look for on the package though, if that was the question.

Search for "magic eraser" here on R2R and you should find many posts.
