Cleaning algae from tuxedo urchin

Moving my little tuxedo urchin from small tank to large tank. He has gathered some algae that he enjoys wearing, but I don’t want it going in the larger tank. What’s the best way to clean up the little urchin before his move?

You should be able to just pull it off. It shouldn't hurt him.
