Cleaning sump

New to having a sump on an aquarium. I was just wondering what the best method of cleaning it was? I siphon any debris out of my display. However, hard to do that when the sump isn't above the bucket. Having it on the floor, gravity can't do the work. Any ideas would be great!

I have a dedicated shopvac for my tank. Cleans the bottom really fast, just have to empty it a few times. When Im done I rinse the shopvac with freshwater.

No problem. Ive read alot of people use the homedepot bucket head and they seem to like it.

Just be sure not to let it over fill with water and blow water out the exhaust everywhere
