I have a question about clove polyps . Do they take time to open once introduced into my aquarium? I received a few 2 days ago and can't figure out why they aren't open . I tested my phosphates and nitrates and they didn't seem out of whack. I got some zoa's and other coral that day and everything is doing good , all open just not the cloves

I had/have this same question. I got mine a week ago and they’re not open like they were when I first saw them in the frag tank. This is my first time with clove polyps.

Mine have roughly 10 “stalks” and only two of them are consistently somewhat open. I may have overdid it a bit with the bayer and hydrogen peroxide dips though. I’m not sure.

I noticed yesterday that the two open polyps opened more when I turned off all of the pumps for a while.

I don’t have them in a high flow area but they do sway back and forth some and they’re in a low light spot right now. I’m guessing they are getting 40-50 par right now.

They seem to be slowly coming around so I’ll just wait it out.

Can take up to a month some times for them to adjust. Mine took 2 weeks to open. Just leave em be and dont mess around with em moving them all over.
