clown domination

i have a 29 gal bio cube set up and cycling nicely. right now i have numerous coral, hermits and snails in it. yesterday i introduced two small marroon clowns. an experienced marine tank friend of mine said i should have waited to put clown(s) in until the other fish were established first to prevent the clowns from attacking. as now it is too late, what other spiecies should i consider to put in there? i feel maybe 4 more small reef fish will complete the selection.

Clowns can get pretty mean. Some even have been to known to bite their owner when they have their hand in the tank.

I like a royal gramma. Mines a pretty laid back fish. Here's a link to some more ideas.

You could always try rearrange the rock work to try to throw off the clowns if they pick on the new fish.

Maroon clowns are the meanist of the clowns. Since they are small you might be ok, depends on them.

Occasionally, when friends with kids come over and they see my clowns, they get all giggly and bubbly. "Like Nemo!" they say. "They're nice!" they say. Nope - I have to explain to them that actually those clowns aren't that funny. They're mean, and can get **** territorial. And if you put 'em in too quick, they'll make the lives of your other fish pretty miserable. I don't have a ready answer for you, but keep the mean territorial attitude of clowns in mind when you're deciding on what to do with them. Ultimately, they just might not fit in. :/
