Hi all

I got 3 clownfishes. Two of same King and one of same breed but different variant. But the different breed clown is fighting always with the other one. I have kept it separated in breeding box but still the clown is fighting from outside. It’s been 15 to 18 days since I bought. When I release it in tank the fighting is fierce. So still kept in box. Any help to reduce fight. ??

3 clowns is always a recipe for disaster - two of them have paired off and are now harassing the odd one out.
The best thing you can do is remove the one and just keep the pair.

Thanks for quick reply. But I have no other tank and I cannot return to seller.
is there any way to add an anemone to reduce the fight.

Other than keeping one isolated theres not much you can do. No matter the amount of anemones. There has been alot of this recently, always research the species you want to purchase before doing so, or post a thread here to get advice. One of these clowns is going to end up in fish heaven if one is not removed.

I see five clownfish. Looks like four ocellaris (two normal and two storms) and a tomato clownfish. Is that correct? Depending on the temperament of the tomato, it may end up killing the other four, or they may get along.

As previously noted, the amount of anemones probably won't matter and they'll continue to fight. I'm guessing the tomato clown may stick close to the bubble-tip anemone, which the others may go to the other anemone, which appears to be a bleached Ritteri (H. magnifica) or BTA (it's hard to ID in the photo). You may want to consider getting higher powered lights since it appears that you only have a strip light above the tank. How long has the tank been set up?

You can't have 3 clown fish in a tank. Almost never works out until one is dead.

Give one away.

Return the isolated clown to your LFS for store credit. Return the tomato to your LFS for store credit. I think you have a total of 5 clowns? Return one more clown to your LFS for store credit. Your ritteri is going to require you to upgrade your light.

This is the correct answer.

I've went through some clownfish in my 1.5 years.. never more than 2. Surprisingly, my Frostbite and Gladiator are the best paired ever. They love each other and have been going strong for over 6 months now..and ate trying to mate.
