Clown fish.

My male died from my pair. It jumped out. I bought a new clown and I got the smallest one there was at the lfs. Should I put both in a breeding box or just release it in the water? However I do have a six line.

Definitely need a lid of some sort with clowns and wrasses.

The breeder box option is to let the clowns get used to each other before they are together in the tank. If you're going this route, just put the new fish in the box... but are you quarantining it first?

You could get away with just reintroducing if it’s a regular percula/occelaris if it’s a Maroon then you will need the breeder box.

The one in the tank is the female. The one in the bucket will be introduced.

My female is on her 3rd male. 1st ended up in the back filter section of an AIO on top of the filter pad and died, second was killed by a six line when I removed the sick female to QT. If anything is going into the acclimation box it would be the six line. Mine was a dick so I trapped and got rid of him. The clowns will do their dance for a while and be fine IMO - assuming they are the same species of course.

I had two juveniles, got along great for a month and then the one killed the other. My only choice was to go bigger. I just put it in. They stayed at the opposite corners for about a day and have been happy together going on 9 months. Also my sixline was present for all of it.

What AIO tank would you recommend. I am looking into one.

I wouldn't but I've had innovative marine that I use for QT and JBJ. I prefer a sump. If I were getting an AIO I'd go with IM. I like their lagoon tanks. If you like the size check out the reefer 170. They have an AIO, but I have the one with the sump. I got it used for like $250
