Do clown gobies need an SPS coral to lay in, or will they be fine without. I just recently bought one and I’m curious.

I have a Lemon Clown Goby in my tank, no SPS. It's fine. Perches on other corals, poweheads, etc.

Are the clown gobies jumpers?

Never seen mine swim too fast, nor seem to want to jump. It's kinda mellow.

Also I just recently had a giant explosion of copepods hopefully he will eat some of those also.

Mine eats dry/frozen (mixes of different stuff). When I put Nori in for the Tangs and Fox Face the Goby will eat some of that too.

Not sure about pods.

Not needed. They like to nestle within a comfortable object. They like hiding amongst polyps but also enjoy leathers, xenia and other softies
