Clownfish and a single cardinal in a 20g cube?

Want to see what yall think about having a pair of clownfish and a single cardinal in a 20g cube. Heard it works fine and also that it could be tight. Also know that a cardinal might not be best alone? What do yall recommend?

At some point the clowns may kill the cardinal. They will claim the whole tank.

What tank mates would you recommend? Want something with the clowns to add variety. I guess the normal gobie that stays out of their clowns water column?

Depends on the clown a bit.
A pair of Occs and a cardinal seems fine.
Maybe a Royal Gramma is a better choice though.
Cardinals don’t like busy….

The Gramma will hold its own for sure.

Maybe a shrimp?

Indeed a pair of ocellaris would be the safest bet. A gramma should be fine. When/if they start spawning then there may be an issue with territory. :)

Add cardinal first nut I have 8 clowns and two cardinals currently with no issues and well over two years
