Clownfish Behavior

I have a pair of ocellaris clowns...one black and one orange. They typically get along very well; the male often does his submissive twitching and the female is quite nice to him. This morning I walked into my room to find my male biting the females fin...he would not get go for a good thirty seconds. After he did let go he went right back to his submissive twitching. I've never seen him act aggressively towards her at all...was he just letting her know that he can hold his own or what? Any ideas?

They are still both fairly young but their gender roles seem pretty set in stone already...
