Hey guys. I was needing a little help. A while ago I ran into a webpage that had a clownfish calculator. You would put in your two species that are paired and enter it into this calculator which would determine what strain of clown their offspring would be. Has anyone run into this?

So while waiting for all of my clownfish to start spawning, I have been hatching and raising striped blennies.

Haha. That’s great!! Thanks for doing that! I was going to sit down today and see if we can can figure it out. Ive got a few pairs that are mismatches and want to see what comes out.

My first reaction was “he could have done that,” but then I never would have known about that site. LOL!

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks what do you mean “he could have done that?
I enjoy exchanging information regarding breeding in general, with special focus on clownfish. I do try and raise peppermint and skunk cleaner shrimp as well to keep it interesting. If anyone here enjoys breeding let me know. I’m going to be working on my thread in the fish breeding forum. I try to share as much research as I can as there is a lot of misconception about copepods especially, regarding their feed. I like to share info on how to culture first foods, like copepods, Rotifers, and Artemia and how to culture them and how get really good densities. I’ve been focusing on the first foods that are fed to various species of fish larvae and shrimp. I’ve found some really good books and research studies that I love to share with anyone interested.

Oops sorry. I forgot to post the video. Heres a video of one of my copepod cultures, Tigriopus Californicus. I also raise apocyclopse panemensis and parvocalanus. Parvo Columbus is great for breeding because they are a pelagic species, meaning they habitate the water column versus clinging on the the sides and bottom.

Well, I haven’t had the chance to read directions, but I think what it’s telling you is that you’ll get two possible outcomes. Does that sound right ?Let me know if you find out more info on it. It is a little ambiguous. I’ll enter in all my pairs and see what I come up with. I have eight pairs of clownfish, some of them are mismatched, being of different species. I can’t wait til they spawn.
