Hello all!
My clownfish hasn't eaten for two days, is heavy breathing and hovering over my live rock.

Any suggestions?

Please help!

What are your water parameters? How long have you had the fish and how long has the tank been cycled? Heavy breathing could be caused by a few things. Ammonia, gill parasites, oxygen content.

Good questions. The aquarium has been cycled for 8 months. I currently do not have a test kit as my test kit is all used up. He just started to act up after I installed an automatic feeder which dumped quite a lot of flakes into the water. I'm thinking it could be ammonia so I did a 25% water change today...

How long have you had them? Being that they’re white...this is gonna be tough. You’ll probably notice color fade before anything else if they have anything.

That would be my assumption as well. If it dumped alot of food in the tank, it likely caused an ammonia spike which can cause rapid breathing.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
