Situation: tank has 3+ months (Fluval 57l), my last pair of clownfish died of what looked like ich/broklynella in one (had both symptoms, couldn't react on time with QT). Since then 6+ weeks have passed with tank being fallow, most of the time the 7W UV light has been running 24 / 7.
Parameters: KH 8.5, Mg 1450, Ca 420, Nitrates 5ppm, Salinity 35ppt, temp. 26C/78F. Rest of the parameters is unknown. Salt: Aquaforest Reef. Corals doing fine.
Problem: new clownfish bought 4 days ago (only fish in the tank). One of them had black spot near the tail (where it can be seen on the photos), LFS said it's normal (hyper-melanization). LFS has an opinion of being trustworthy.
I noticed on the same fish (by shining flashlight at night) discoloration of white portions. Both sides, and head. The discoloration on the head was getting bigger, but got smaller over the course of last day. Both fish are swimming normal, eating without problems. Second fish has only slight discoloration on top fin, no black spots.
What can be the cause and should I be worried?
Best regards and many thanks in advance,
Lukas
