Clownfish hanging above return valve?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

They can sometimes host odd parts of the aquarium. They will pick a spot decide its home and hang out on that spot other then feeding time. As long as there are no other symptoms like fast breathing spots or wounds that's probably what's happening.

My clowns hosted the back right corner right under my power head for quite a while til they decided they liked my Duncan better.

Clowns do weird things such as this but also confirm it’s not breathing heavy, listless, losing appetite and color

Thats not extraordinary because clowns are not ordinary they do weird things and this one could be hosting just in that spot (maybe feels safe?) just make sure that its breathing normal and nothing looks different on it.

Yup. As others have stated... Clowns will be clowns. Unless you could better describe "acting weird" it just sounds to me to be normal clown behavior. WELCOME, BTW!

Welcome to R2R. Clowns can be peculiar creatures. If it seems otherwise well then no worries. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.
