I noticed the 1st stripe right behind the eye is not perfectly smooth. Two 3 month old clowns. Just want to make sure this is normal, as the rest of the body is perfectly smooth. No discoloration, just more rough looking.

got any pictures of it?
I don't think it would be viewable. I've looked at a ton of pictures of clowns since posting this and they all seem to have it, so I'm less worried. Here is one that is a good representation:

Hi! Did you ever find out if anything was wrong with your clownfish? Mine has the same facial stripe that looks kind of wrinkled. Everything else on her body looks totally fine, but I’m worried it could be some kind of parasite that might get worse. I also don’t want to treat her if it’s not necessary and put her through the stress of meds.

There is a disease that can present itself into looking like this. Is it only on the top of the stripe, like on the forehead. Does it have an indention? If so, it is a intestinal infection called Hexamita. You would cure it by feeding metronidazole for about a week until the indention goes away. You will either have to medicate its food or feed it premedicated food.
