Is this likely from injury or sickness? He does also have a ripped fin. Should I pull him out so he can recover? I've posted this pair on here before and had them for over 6 years, but it seems like he keeps getting the worst of it lately. He also likes to lay down on his side throughout the day recently.

This likely has stemmed from an injury and being cloudy, I suggest treatment in a separate tank using Maracyn as pictured in a separate tank.

keep the water clean by doing water changes with fresh saltwater and feed good food and get the fish to have good sleep.

It does look like a simple injury. I don’t think it needs antibiotics just yet. Watch for redness, increasing eye size or more cloudiness before treating with an antibiotic.

I think the pair bond a breaking down. Can you put a tank divider in?
