CO2 recirculating scrubber solenoid question

I have a spare BRS single reactor that I want to make into a CO2 scrubber and I am looking at making it into a recirculating CO2 scrubber and control it with my controllee by having a barbed wye fitting and a solenoid so that if the pH gets too high the controller will power on/off the solenoid so it will stop recirculating and grab the ambient air instead.

Can I use this solenoid (https://a.co/d/j0CiyXD) with this power supply (https://a.co/d/g4ihzCz) If I am reading it correctly I need convert AC power from controller power outlet to DC as the solenoid looks like it requires DC power to work. Does that sound about right?
 
The second link to the power supply won't open anything for me.

But yes, you'll need a dc power supply to run that solenoid. The solenoid that opens in the link is a 4.8w, so I would see if you have any old phone chargers laying around that would work.

30W seems like a lot of power but I have a bunch of spare power cords from my Arduino projects that are in the 3-6 watt range

Would that power source work, yes, but you'll be overdriving the solenoid. I would be concerned about it getting too hot and catching fire. Definitely look for a power supply in the same range as the solenoid.

Watts doesn't matter... well as long as you have enough..:)
1A 12v wall wart would do though.
Voltage does matter.

As to heating, yea that solenoid probably wouldn't like to be engaged for a long duration.

You can find some listed for continuous duty on Amazon. Watch the thread type though..

Depending on how long you think it takes to adjust pH you may be better off with a ball valve
Opens and sort of idles so no continuous stress on a coil.
When power is removed it closes.
More expensive but more efficient
