Recirculating CO2 scrubber mounting question?

I have ordered a FOH CO2 scrubber and the CO2 ring for my skimmer cup. I ordered the mini one with the float sensor in the collection cup for my Hydros. Can this be mounted below the tank in the stand, or does it need to be at the same level as the skimmer? The skimmer is in the second chamber of my AIO, so it would be nicer looking hidden in the stand. I didn’t think of this when I ordered it…

In my mind, it will be ok below due to the fact that I have a level sensor on it if the collection cup fills up???
