it can, yes. depending what skimmer you have you may need to buy some attachments, or make some modifications to make it recirculating (this will make the media last compared to non-recirculating)

I need more tubing to hook it up? Do i need special tubing or something like that would work? https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/black-1-2-polyethylene-ro-tubing-mur-lok.html
Basically, the goal of "recirculating" is to create a loop from the skimmer's air intake -> CO2 scrubber -> skimmer cup. Just be 100% certain that your skimmer will stop and not suck in the CO2 media should it overflow. It's like pouring kalk directly into the tank -- total tank nuke!

You should get 3-4x longevity recirculating vs not. Also, if things work out -- buy the 5g Jorvet soda lime in bulk!

Good luck

No -- when your skimmer sucks air and CO2 media thru its intake! So you need to to stop the skimmer if/when the cup is full. You're recirculating air thru that skimmer cup, right?

This is what I use since my skimmer doesn't have a safety mechanism.

There is a skimmer co2 recirculating lid for that skimmer, I think it's $30 on BRS for the 4", you will need a larger size.

I highly recomend, if so, I also recomend a moisture trap of some sort.

I bought a 2nd brs co2 scrubber for the purpose of a moisture catch and made sure the air line between them had an upward arch to prevent moisture from traveling between the two as well.
