I just watched a very long but interesting Pod cast with guest Patrick Moore regarding Climate Change , and why he quit Green Peace ( he was one of the founders right from protesting nuclear bomb testing into the atmosphere ). It centered around CO2 , and if you expand on it it can be interpreted as to the benefits of adding CO 2 to your reef Tank. Feedback is what I am looking For . It was on " Modern Wisdom " . I really enjoyed the fact that the host did not continually interrupt

I don’t want to watch the show right now, but I do use CO2 to lower the pH and melt aragonite in the calcium reactor that drips alkalinity into the reef. Too much effluent will lower the pH in the tank, so I don’t think I would want to add much CO2 (above normal atmospheric concentrations-outside) to avoid lowering pH in the system because it may interfere with coral growth.

But I have heard a few people have moved on from the green movement for a few different reasons.

What it implies is that increased CO2 Ie he talks of people talking to their plants and claiming increased growth as a out of this world idea , until he realized that our breath contains a huge amount of CO@ therefore aids in plant growth and I believe development of calcium skeleton if I am correct

Land plants can sometimes benefit from CO2.

CO2 in seawater lowers pH. That can do several things, mostly bad for hard corals, but increasing the availability of CO2 to photosynthesizing corals is not typically one of them because they generally do not use CO2 directly, but rather bicarbonate and carbonate, which is not increased by boosting CO2.
