Boom diggity, look at that monster!
Dang! How are you pulling the pale body but super purple tips? that looks awesome.
(sad deal righty, you are in good hands though)
I’m feeling pretty good about the collider.

I think just good old low nutrients and high. light I’ve been riding near zero phos a while now and nitrate under 7.

I had been dosing zinc the last year or so. But I have been methodically removing a couple inches of detritus from my sump since January and oddly enough the zinc demand plummeted.

So I’m not really adding anything else but calcium reactor effluent these days, ammonium, and neo phos to walk the nutrient line.

I've always wanted to try and run low nutrients, but i am too big of a sissy to ride the edge of that knife. Too worried i would miss a feeding or something and crash it all. I think my phosphates are at around .25 currently and i have been really pushing nitrates (ammonium) too to finally get them up around 10ppm. I do get really deep vivid colors and have been lucky to not have anything brown out on me (knock on wood), but wonder how everything would look with those really pretty contrasting pastel base tones and deep tips, kind of like Firth Fantathy (love that piece by the way, thank you for sticking it in the last box).
Id seen you state elsewhere that you were dosing zinc, odd that detritus related processes would increase demand. Pretty neat though.

I may have to temporarily disrupt my pattern of neglect and do some serious maintenance. Super odd acro blister. Saw one on bozo too and a few others are showing signs of dysplasia :/

Not specifically, no. The last time this happened, i tested high for iron zinc and magnesium as well as had low sodium high chloride. I know magnesium isn't high this time, tests around 1290 or so, so i would think maybe high iron/zinc could be at issue? I do have some rusty hardware above my sump as well as some serious bryopsis and GHA issues that won't go away where they would normally leading me to think i may indeed have high iron/zinc once more.

I just did a 25 gallon water change and pressure washer'd my mixing drum out. Going to make up another 55 gallons and hit it again in a few days. Not sure how i am going to want to address my rusty plumbing straps yet though.
