I would just smother them with some epoxy. It would be like putting chewed up bubble gum over them.

Strangely enough there hasn't been food in that tank for about 6-7 months, there aren't any fish in it, just weekly water changes...10 gal, it's a 34 gal tank....I think that the live rock might be leaching nutrients back in to the system

Not so strange, actually. If there are no fish, they are probably enjoying some copepods normally eaten by the fish.
