Colt coral

Hey guys, so my niece came to me because she recently got a colt coral for her reef tank, and it’s tilting downward, I don’t really know what to say to her because I have never had a coral looking like this, so I just wanted to ask if this was normal?

I found my colt was one of the most sensitive corals I've had. It didn't like to be moved, touched, or messed with and would slump down and close for weeks if I did! Have her find a spot in the tank that she likes and leave it there. The less fiddling with it the better! Hope that helps....

Is that a colt coral? Or a finger coral? I have had colt corals and they look very different than that. The branch but the branches tend to be too heavy to stand and weave out like long legs.

This is what I understand a colt coral to be.

And this is what I understand a sinulara finger coral to be. The finger leather tends to have more direct branches that stand up where as the colt flops like spaghetti.

P.s. Both come in a myriad of colors. I am still trying to find a blue sinulara finger coral myself or devils hand. Had one once and lost it when my tank crashed.

Colt is beautiful but sensitive/touchy.
Offer it as much flow as you can without blowing it awaty and increase white a little as they require good spectrum.
Salinity should be 1.02-1.026 range and ph 8.0-8.3.
