I just put my 8 small fish into a 50gal QT after losing two fish in the last 3 weeks. Neither fish showed any sign of disease. I do know what killed them so i didn't want to risk the 8 other fish. I'm going to leave the DT fallow for 76 days, leaving corals, shrimps, snails, crabs and anemone in the DT . I put CP in the QT before putting in the fish. I also gave each fish a 5 mins freshwater dip before adding to QT. Except the Royal Gamma which was stressing after 3 mins. My question is do I also add General Cure as well to the QT?

That will treat for worms (which CP does not address), and you can safely combine GC with CP. So, I say go ahead and do it. :)

Thank you for your response. Would either CP or GC help with bacterial or fungus infection. Just trying to cover all bases.

Fungal infections are pretty rare in SW fish; an antibiotic such as Kanaplex or Furan-2 would be needed for a bacterial infection. But since those typically show themselves (red sore, white film) on the skin, it's best to wait before treating as antibiotics can be harsh on certain fish.

I think some people don't know the difference between fungus and bacteria. I too thought they were the same (fuzzy stuff). Is there a picture of fungus vs bacteria? That might help.
