REd Encrusting Algae ID

I have this algae, I believe it's a red Coraline, I got mine from indo Pacific Sea farms, it was spots for years, until I ran lower light and most importantly lower temperature. It spread like wildfire. I'm back to sps lighting and temperature. It never died back but is not reproducing like it did when I had my tank colder.

Yeah, that’s the same stuff I have. I described mine as velvety but it’s smooth, used the wrong word.
Causes no issue was just hoping to get an ID on it. Those saying Cyano I know it’s not Cyano for sure……..I even said that in my `original post.

I’ve had it for years. Somebody had mentioned to me once it thrives in low nitrate tanks. Where are your nitrates at?

Mine are also low. Last time I checked, they were like 3

I’ve had this algae for years in my SPS dominant tank. It’s often mistaken for Cyano when I post coral pics. It’s an encrusting algae , velevety to the touch but definitely not cyano. It poses no issues that I know of. I think my Tuxedo Urchins pick at it but not enough to eradicate it. Asked for an ID on the forum years ago but never got one. Thought I’d try again . Here’s a pic, it only grows on the rocks.

Any chance you could get a small sample of it under a strong microscope?

I have something similar in my SPS tank. I always assumed it was a type of coraline but I really don't known for sure. It hasn't caused any problems and coral encrust over it so I haven't worried about it. Its definitely not cyano.
It's very smooth to the touch and does not blow off.

I've been experiencing the same thing for the past year. It's definitely not cyano.
It's hard and slippery, with no air bubbles or hairs.
There's no redness in the sand, only on the scaping or frags.
I've tried scraping it off, but it's difficult to remove. I've added sea urchins, but the effect isn't significant.
I'm quite frustrated with this algae. It's difficult to entrust corals, especially zoanthids.
I haven't found a way to get rid of it. Please help if you've managed to fix it.

I haven't done anything to actually address it in my tank. My SPS have no problem encrusting over it so I'm not considering it a problem.
