I was working in my cabinet today and noticed that my power bricks for my Hydras are running quite hot.

This made me wonder….. could I solve the heat issue and end up with one power cable for both lights rather than two?

the power brick on my hydra reads:

AC input: 100-240v 2.5A
DC output: 36V 2.5A

could I simply buy, say a 100-240v 10 amp power supply and run both lights from it with a splitter? That way the power brick wouldn’t be as hot as it’s not running near capacity? And then as a side benefit narrow it down to one plug taken up on my power bar?

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. You many have to cut/splice/rewire depending on the cable ends you currently have and what the power supply will accept.
