So I’m coming back to the reef world after 13 years being out of it. Looking for a 210 or bigger. Ideally probably have to something built, I want 7’x30”x25”tall. What are some of the must haves, new things and revolutions that have came out in the past 10 years?

Welcome, glad you are here! I came back after 10 years 4 years ago next month. So many changes! Prices, Hawaiian fish ban, captive bread and raised fish, what’s considered normal nutrient levels and automation.

Pros and cons to acrylic? Have found what I feel to be a great pice in a tank canopy and stand. But it’s acrylic. 300 gallon. Dimensions are perfect for my wants being 82inches length x 30inches width x 28inches height. Just not sure about the acrylic part. Never had one

Don't be afraid of acrylic!!! Yes, they do scratch, but so does glass, and with acrylic you can easily remove the scratched. They're strong than glass tank and once you see it lite up you'll notice that it just glows! I changed my tanks over 25 years ago and will never go back!
