Came home to find my serpent star with 2 legs inside condy anemone... managed to extract him but 1 leg was totally gone and other leg mostly eaten through...
Has anyone had this happen before? Other than some BTAs and snails these are my only tank inhabitants currently. I have clowns finishing quarantine I was going to add to my DT this week but am concerned about this condy being aggressive now... Do i need to remove this condy?

Condys have a stronger sting than most anemones found in the hobby, and can sometimes eat fish as well.

I think the serpent star was weak as the tank seems new and not enough detritus/microfauna in the tank, got caught and couldn’t escape.

Is it attached to a rock right now?

Thats my thought as well. Going to try feeding the star more regularly and will probably be trading the condy back to my LFS because I don't want to risk any other fish/corals going forward. Didn't know condys were so aggressive when I bought it but should have known better to research more before buying... I have 3 small BTAs that are doing well and saw this beautiful condy at the LFS. Will not impulse buy again...
