So just a warning I cannot talk about other companies but the manufacturer of my Aquanest lights if they are still operational will not respond to their on the web site message board ( wont even send ), nor email , comes back as undeliverable.
The problem is I bought a new phone. The old app would not transfer over, and when I took it to the local geek shop they could not do it. The QR code scanned and said " not viable code " on a search a new app came up but would not connect to the lights. I am thinking that I would have to power down the lights completely to do a reboot of them, and hope the new app works. If not I am left with $ 900 of unusable plastic. As I said no customer support " Chinese company So be warned

That's... not quite nightmare fuel, but darn close.

The manual is janky as heck, and its origins somewhat suspicious so I ran it through a Hybrid Analysis scan and read it there. Nothing at all useful, or that refers to any kind of reset function, only to send it back for repair.

It will almost certainly take more than just powering down the lights. There is likely either a battery and/or a capacitor that needs removing or discharging, and/or the controller probably uses NVRAM that will hold its state regardless of a battery or capacitor. It might be possible to clear NVRAM by grounding specific pins on it, but I would not do that to a $900 set of lights unless you are - or have very specific guidance from - an electronics engineer.

Ideally there would be a discreet pinhole somewhere big enough to get a paper clip into that acts as a "flash" or "reset" button. Otherwise, you're down to cracking open the controller and hoping it's not NVRAM that has to be cleared.

There's some things in the instructions (particularly the AP mode) vaguely reminiscent of the directions for my Noo-psyche K7, where someone else posted about problems getting a used one removed from where it was locked in to their app registration, and I could find nothing anywhere at all to reset the device manually with.

Oddly enough my AI prime has a reset to clear any programs and return it to factory where I assume which it wont do now ( yes a different light, and different problem ) wont even let me check the current program ??? What's up with that? wanted to lower settings for my current coral. I wanted it for backup in case the " reset " I was going to try did not work. That is how I got my musing about the Aquanest. As to sending it back They wont receive an email from me. But appreciate the effort. I am going to look for a manual set of lights in the future. I already have a nice one that sets up and keeps a program on the light itself. That was another issue you can only use an app?? Joke
