with so many controllers out there, is there an advantage for one brand of controller over another? i heard one of the controller company (can't remember the name but i think it's got "angel" in the name) isn't as good as the others. i'm so confused over Reef Keeper Lite vs Reef Keeper Elite vs Apex Jr vs Apex vs ETC (also Arduino i think it's the name). This is my first controller and i would love to know what others are using and any ups/downs

I just recently set up an Apex and am loving it. With the new Apex Fusion you can access / contol it online from anywhere with an internet connection. If you go to BRS and look at them, click the full details tab and it shows you what's included with each. I went with the full version and an extra EB8 bar, the ALD module for leak detection with two detectors (one in the cabinet and one on the floor behind it), the WXM module for my vortechs and a breakout box that I used to control lights in the two cabinets when I open the doors.

First off you need to ask your question what are your intentions out of this controller? The difference between ReefKeeper lite and elite is the amount of modules you can plug into the system. Not sure the difference on Apex systems, audrino is a mini computer and takes a lot more hands on to get it right. If your simply wanting a controller to control dosing pumps, turn lights on/off then go with the RKL, cheap and does the job. If your wanting more control out of the box, then go with Apex as you can monitor ph, web capabilities, ramp up/down I believe with diy led's. If I would do it again, I would go Apex all day long, very good product for the money.
