controlling calcium reactor using jda's DKH method

Anyone using his method ,need some clarification. @jda

i was reading the google doc :

• If when you raise or lower in your magic ratio, the dkH moves to 22 or 28, then who cares… if it is keeping up with the tank demand, then leave it alone.
• Over time, as your tank demand increases, you will need to increase the output of your CaRx - make a slight increase and test the tank and you should see it slowly rise and then level off.

is it to increase the output and bubble count and yet maintain at 25 ? how should i meet with demand ?

If you increase output of the effluent then yes you need to increase bubble count slightly. Ideally aim for 25dkh. Increasing output without increasing CO2 will drop the output dkh. You will not be adding more alk/day just more volume at a lower dkh.

Make very minor adjustments once dialed in and monitor tank Alk and be ready to bump slightly with bicarbonate until the reactor is adjusted and keepings alk stable.

For a time you can just bump CO2 up slightly as needed. As long as the reactor pH is not too low. At some point you need to increase effluent flow to keep pH from going too low.

If you wanted you could measure effluent alk and volume output and calculate how much alk you are adding each day and compare with tank usage if you know that number.
