Hey guys, coming in with some hopes to get advice from people with hands on experience. My tang has been flashing and rubbing up on rocks quite frequently. No white specs so I’m not suspecting ich, no golden haze, lethargy or labored breathing so I don’t think it’s velvet either. I’m thinking flukes, all other fish are acting normal. Brand new ish tank, but this is the newest fish. I don’t have a hospital tank. I could set one up worst case possible but would rather save the money.

Does any one have personal experience is praziquantel? 200g system low mixed coral load, low fish load, tank only 4 weeks old. Live rock and stuff moved over from my nano

If flukes, Prazi is safe and effective. When dosing which can be done in display tank, dose at 85% of recommended dosage and allow it to work for 8 days, change water and apply one more application lasting 8 days and do add an air stone as Prazi lowers both oxygen and appetite which may be the case or part of it

Is a water change necessary? Or can running UV and carbon help remove excess treatment. It WC is necessary how much. I only ask because this is a big tank, it’s a little hard for me to mix up large amounts of water

UV wont address this and may break down the glycol in Prazi. Carbon wont help either. With water change, at least 10-15%after day 8. In your case we are talking 10-15 gallons
