Cool/Interesting Things About Your Hometown

In this big family of reefers, many of us lead interesting lives and have the benefits of living in interesting areas. What is your hometown and what cool & interesting things are there?

I'll start: Bardstown, KY

One word: Bourbon - Bardstown in the bourbon capital of the world (Barton Brands, Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, Four Roses)

We have My Old Kentucky Home (state symbol and song)

I'm sure interesting things have happened here but the things I experienced personally were: In Orange, CA - the making of "That thing you do" staring Tom Hanks (I was 10 feet from him) and the movie Kindergarten Cop staring Arnold Schwarzenegger (I was on the second story and saw him down below). A lot of movies were filmed here, but in Old Town Orange, including "Big Momma's house" staring Martin Lawrence.

Spokane, WA.

Home of the largest foot race in the world, Bloomsday, and the largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the world, HoopFest. Home of Expo '74 Worlds Fair. Several movies have been filmed here, including Benny and June, Vision Quest, Smoke Signals, End Game, Mozart and the Whale, Toys, and a couple of others I can't remember. Also home of Gonzaga University and Bing Crosby.
