I’ve had my reef tank for over a year now. Early on, I picked up a small hydroid colony on a zoa frag. They’re really fascinating, and I’ve managed to grow them enough to start fragging.

I have some that look like these. They do spread but not quickly. They don't seem to bother anything so I let them be. 🙂

Yeah those have been living on the original frag with the zoa and never really bothered them.
